Not that finding the guilty party will make the loss any less. The writers of the series think long and hard before they kill off a character - - and doubly so when it is a child - - but they also think in terms of long- term and the great stories they can tell as a result. So, even though I was not happy with the decision to kill Delia, and I am finding the show a bit depressing to watch right now, I am hoping that it will pay off big time in 2. Nick/Summer/Jack: Nick (Joshua Morrow) made the decision to finally find out whether or not Summer (Hunter King) is his biological daughter when he saw how close she was getting to Kyle (Hartley Sawyer), who could be her brother. Of course, this gave an off- her- meds Sharon (Sharon Case) the perfect opportunity to switch the DNA results.
. it's time to look back at the best and the worst of what The Young and the Restless had to offer for 2013. the worst of what The Young and the Restless had to. . The Young and the Restless has been the number one daytime drama for more than 20 consecutive years. Watch The Young & The Restless Online.
Why would she do it? Because she felt that if Summer wasn't Phyllis' (Michelle Stafford) daughter with Nick, but rather with Jack (Peter Bergman), Nick might turn to her and they would re- marry, which was her end game. В Jeanne Cooper/Billy Miller/Michael Muheny: We lost Katherine Chancellor (Cooper) this year with the death of Jeanne Cooper, who was the longest- running character on The Young and the Restless. It marked the end of an era, but it couldn't be helped.

But now, we have Billy Miller leaving the series because he couldn't come to terms on a contract for The Young and the Restless. The dish is that he wanted some time off to go through pilot season to see if he could land a primetime series, but because he was so heavy in storyline, his request was denied. Then, came the shocking news that Michael Muheny (Adam Newman) had been fired. Word is that Michael isn't the easiest person to get along with, but he is an excellent actor and I have really enjoyed Adam's transformation the second half of this year (see best). В 4. В Hilary's Plot Against the Winters family: Revenge is usually an intriguing storyline, but for some reason Hilary's (Mishael Morgan) scheme to take down Neil (Kristoff St.
John) and his family kind of fizzled out at the end. Part of the problem was that, in truth, Neil wasn't really responsible for Hilary losing her mom.
Yes, he did contribute to her demise, but people have to own their own choices, and Hilary didn't recognize her mother's part in it. And then for Neil to forgive her so quickly - - I understand that forgiveness is a good thing - - but I think it is something we normally work toward and, for my taste, Neil seemed to fall into it too quickly. Avery Leaves Nick at the Altar: If Avery (Jessica Collins) didn't think she should marry Nick, I think she should have told him straight out and returned the ring. Leaving him at the altar - - with all his family and friends there - - in order to help Dylan (Steve Burton) seemed a bit passive to me, as if she was thinking: If I show up hours late and Nick still marries me, fine, but if I show up hours late and he doesn't forgive me, oh, well.
If Dylan is Avery's true love, I think she should go for it, but she should be honest about it with herself and with Nick. Like I was just saying about Hilary's mother, OWN IT! The Best: 1. В Lauren/Michael/Fen Story: I wasn't crazy about the bullying storyline, but what it did do was open the door for Lauren (Tracey Bregman) to cheat on Michael (Christian Le. Blanc) with. В hunky Carmine (Marco Dapper).
Who knew it would lead to his becoming obsessed with her, Fen (Max Ehrich) overdosing, Michael going to jail, Lauren kidnapped, Carmine being murdered and then both Michael and Fen in jail. The payoff has definitely been worth it and given the actors great drama to play. The only sad part was that Carmine, who we had come to love to hate, had to leave the show. В 2. Adam's Transformation After Losing Newman Enterprises: Adam is thought of as one of the villain's of The Young and the Restless, but his portrayal of the character makes it impossible to not root for him on occasion. You can understand his desire to prove himself to a father (Victor - - Eric Braeden), who never made an effort to know him as a boy, and you could believe that his decision to let Jack help him was not done with malice.
But after losing Newman, Adam changed and it was a delight to watch. He recognized that his son Connor with ex- wife Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) needed his mother, so he had them move in with him rather than sue for custody, and his guilt over Delia's death - - whether or not it turns out he was responsible - - has softened him, especially since Chloe donated Delia's corneas to give Connor sight. Adam's last day will be January 3. Delia's death. В He will be missed. Sharon's Descent Meant Cassie's Return: В When I first heard that Cassie (Camryn Grimes) was returning to the show, I thought it might be as a ghost or in newly created flashbacks. It never occurred to me that it would be as one of the voices in her mother's heads, which allowed The Young and the Restless to demonstrate what life is like for someone living with bipolar disease.
В 4. В Nikki Reveals She Has Another Son: В Nikki's (Melody Thomas Scott) illness has given her a lot to think about, and one of those things is she needed to let the baby she put up for adoption before moving to Genoa City know that she had been diagnosed with MS. It was clear from the comments that Victor made to Chelsea that he had no tolerance for mothers who give their babies up for adoption, so it wasn't surprising that Nikki turned to Paul (Doug Davidson) to track down her long- lost son. And while I know that a lot of you out there are not big fans of Dylan's, this could turn things around as he becomes embroiled in the stories involving the Newman family. Victor has made it quite clear that Dylan will never be a Newman, and we know that Nick can't accept Dylan since he feels Avery left him for the other man, but it looks like Victoria will be open to having a new family member.
В The Tribute to Katherine Chancellor: It took a while after Jeannie Cooper's death for The Young and the Restless to pay tribute to the soap queen, but when they did, it was worth the wait - - both the special with the clips of her many years on the show, and then her actual funeral and the reading of the will. It is especially nice that her presence is still felt even though she is gone.
